Pete Briger, Jr.

Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors & Managing Partner

Pete Briger is Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors and a Managing Partner. He serves on the Leadership Committee and is a member of several investment committees.

Prior to joining Fortress in 2002, Mr. Briger spent fifteen years at Goldman Sachs, where he became a partner in 1996. 

Mr. Briger established and manages the Briger Foundation for Oncology Research to challenge the standard of care and help drive breakthroughs in rare sarcomas. Mr. Briger also serves as a founding board member of the Guild Theatre in Menlo Park. In addition, Mr. Briger serves on the Dean’s Advisory Board at Stanford Graduate School of Business and is an Emeritus board member of the Tipping Point Community and a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.

Mr. Briger received a B.A. from Princeton University and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.
